Blood Clinics
Blood Clinics are held Monday - Friday with the phlebotomist.
Foreign Travel
All necessary immunisations, including yellow fever, can be given by our practice nurses. Obtain a travel form at least one month in advance from reception.
Cervical Smears
Women under 35 are advised to have a smear every three years. Women between 35 and 65 are advised to have a smear every five years. These can be done by the practice nurses.
Family Planning
A full range of services is available at our family planning clinic held at the medical centre every Thursday by Dr Michele Lacey.
Maternity Care
Antenatal clinics are held on Thursday afternoons by the community midwife, and by appointments with Drs Tamlyn, Gregory, Lacey, Galbraith, Hall and Lane.
Midwife
The midwife encourages a healthy lifestyle before pregnancy, if possible. She can offer advice re: diet, smoking etc and could arrange referrals for counselling if there are any particular problems. Appointments can be
made for Thursday afternoons.
Minor Surgery
All partners and practice nurse Debbie Mitchell have been approved for this service.
Minor Injuries
The practice is a minor injuries unit with one nurse in attendance until 6.30pm every evening Monday to Friday.
Immunisation Clinic
We believe that all children should be immunised, starting when they are two months old. Clinics are held every Monday afternoon between 2.30 and 4.15pm.
COPD (Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease) And Asthma Clinics
These are held weekly in the practice for people with respiratory disease. The clinic is held by practice nurse Norma Bushby who undertakes spirometry (the measurement of breathing), education and prescription
of inhaler medication to suit the person.
CHD (Coronary Heart Disease)
These clinics are held regularly to monitor patients who have heart disease. Patients are seen annually, when they have their bloods and blood pressure taken, and their lifestyle and any problems discussed. These
clinics are run by a nurse practitioner.
Diabetes
This clinic is held weekly by a team of experienced nurses and a GP.
Minor Illness Clinic
These clinics are run by experienced nurse practitioners who have undergone further training. They have been running for over one year and are proving popular with our patients. Most people can be seen by the nurse on
the same day and prescriptions are issued according to need. When necessary patients are referred to doctors.
