Business Manager

Janice Stepney is our practice business manager; she may be able to assist you with any administrative or non-medical matters. She is also available to discuss any suggestions about our service or to help with any complaints.
We will ensure that any comment or complaint is taken seriously and fully investigated in strict confidence.

Reception Staff

Our fully trained reception staff have a difficult job to do, and they appreciate your co-operation. They will try not to keep you waiting. They may have to ask you personal questions at times, in order to help you in the most appropriate way. It is a legal requirement that confidentiality of patients' records is maintained at the highest level by all staff.

In addition to general nursing advice, they offer the following services:

  • Dressings
  • Cervical smears
  • Immunisations
  • Ear irrigation
  • Removal of stitches
  • Blood pressure checks
  • Blood/urine tests

They are available in the treatment room by appointment each weekday between 8.30am-12.00noon, 2.00-5.00pm.

District Nurses

District nurses may be contacted via reception or the Central Health Access Point on 0845 092 0414 (Option 4) for patients requiring skilled care support in the community.

Child Health Clinics are held on Mondays and Thursdays 9.30am - 12 noon. The appointments for these can be booked through reception.

Child health surveillance is carried out by Dr Michele Lacey.

Physiotherapy Advice

A physiotherapist visits the medical centre on a regular basis. Referrals are arranged by your doctor.

Counsellor

A counsellor attends the practice. Referrals are made by your doctor.

Podiatrist

A community podiatrist attends on a regular basis by appointment. This is referred by your doctor. There is a domiciliary service available if your doctor considers this appropriate.

Training Practice

The practice has been approved as a GP training practice; Dr Gregory and Dr Galbraith are both approved trainers. This means the practice may have a fully qualified doctor working in the practice while training to be a GP. A patient's consent is sought if a student is to be present during a consultation.
